The Rotary Club of Randwick is proud to having provided support to indigenous health training by way of scholarships through Australian Rotary Health over the past ten years.
We congratulate our current student, Blake, who is in his third year of physiotheraphy at The University of Sydney. Blake not only very successfully completed the autumn semester but has also successfully completed practical physiotheraphy learning at Port Kembla Hospital and at Auburn. Blake has reported that Port Kembla area is one of lower socioeconomic standing and that it was rewarding to be part of improving the post operative health of patients recovering from serious strokes, multiple sclerosis and degenerative diseases of the nervous systems. He also experienced working in one of Sydney’s most multicultural areas, with many challenges presented in communicating with patients with limited grasp of English.
We wish Blake every success with the remainder of his studies.
