On Wednesday 1st May 2019 a dinner meeting attended by representatives of 5 out of the 6 Sydney Eastern Suburbs Rotary Clubs was held to have a discussion about the good works that Rotary has been doing in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, and beyond, and to discuss the challenging situations within the clubs to find a way forward to grow Rotary’s membership and effective presence in the Eastern Suburbs and within each of the participating clubs.
Ms Mary Lynne Pidcock facilitated the discussion, following an approach by South Sydney Rotary, with several useful outcomes achieved.
There was also good networking between the clubs during and after the meeting.
District 9675 Governor Ms Sue Hayward and Assistant District 9675 Governor Ms Hilary Lloyd attended and took part in the meeting.
The opportunity was also taken to present a 4-sapphire Paul Harris Fellow pin to Mr John Bowe in recognition of his tireless work for Rotary since his induction on 1st July 1984, in particular with the running of the now closed Kingsford Rotary Markets, from which funds are still being used for the good of local and international communities. John’s wife Evelyn also attended and enjoyed the dinner meeting.
